The Red Lorry Film Festival has announced September 5, directed by Tim Fehlbaum, as its opening film. Presented by BookMyShow and produced by Paramount Pictures, the historical thriller was nominated for Best Original Screenplay at the 2025 Academy Awards and offers a shifted perspective on the 1972 Munich Olympics hostage crisis.Set within the ABC Sports newsroom, just a few hundred feet from the unfolding tragedy, September 5 captures the intense challenges faced by the journalists who covered the event in real-time. Festival Director Ashish Saksena called September 5 a perfect choice to launch the festival, stating, “This film embodies what we aim to do — not just showcase cinema, but create experiences that challenge, move, and inspire viewers. It’s a remarkable way to kick off our festival, reminding everyone that great cinema connects human experiences across borders and generations.”The Red Lorry Film Festival will run from March 21-23, 2025, in Mumbai and Hyderabad, featuring over 120 films, including Best Pciture winner at the Oscars 2025, Anora, Emilia Perez, Maria, The Outrun, The Last Showgirl, Red Rooms, Universal Language and classics like Se7en, Pretty Woman, The French Connection, Karz, and Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak.
