Miley Cyrus faced an unexpected moment at the Tribeca Festival premiere of her new film Something Beautiful on June 6, as several audience members disrupted the event, mistakenly believing they were attending a concert. The premiere, held at New York City’s Beacon Theatre, featured a screening of the film followed by a Q&A with Miley, producer Panos Cosmatos, and co-directors Jacob Bixenman and Brendan Walter. However, confusion among attendees turned tense when some began shouting at the singer.“We paid $800. Sing!” one audience member yelled, while another shouted, “We thought this was a concert.” Miley responded by singing an impromptu a cappella version of The Climb, her 2009 hit from Hannah Montana: The Movie, drawing cheers from the crowd.According to The Hollywood Reporter, the confusion stemmed from misleading advertisements by third-party resellers like StubHub and VividSeats, which reportedly failed to clarify that the event was a film screening, not a live concert. Some fans paid hundreds, even over $1,000, under the impression they were buying concert tickets.Despite the interruption, Miley later thanked fans for their energy on Instagram, writing, “Seeing Something Beautiful on the big screen… surrounded by the screams of the audience was so worth every bit of effort. Tonight was emotional, deep, fun & fabulous.”Something Beautiful! is set for U.S. theatrical release on June 12 and is described as a visual album inspired by The Wall by Pink Floyd.
