A woman fighting a fight for her rights from the society, who has seen everyting in her life, has suffered a lot. But don’t give up yet. Such was Gangubai… Gangubai Kathiawadi.
Her name was Ganga Jagjivandas Kathiawad. She was in love with a boy named Ramnik. She used to dream of becoming a heroine in the picture. Ramnik had sold her in a brothel for 1000 rupees by showing the dream of taking her to Mumbai and making a heroine. After being hungry and thirsty in a dark room for a few days, she had to come out. After sitting on the business, her first customer named her Gangu! And there Ganga became Gangu and said goodbye to her old life. As life progressed, she met different types of people, got love, and later also got respect. She fought and won for the rest of her life for the 4000 women and their children in her red light area. This is the story of Gangubai Kathiawadi.
Alia did amazing
Alia Bhatt has never been seen in this kind of role. And if it is said that this was her best role, then it will not be wrong. Alia also did a great job in the film Raazi, but there were many challenges in the role of Gangubai on which she has met. The gullible and cute-looking Alia Bhatt getting into the character of Gangubai is a sight to behold. The power in her voice and her pride is made upon seeing it. Alia has beautifully depicted Gangubai’s gait and her thinking on screen. Along with this, Alia’s dialogues are tremendous.
Prakash Kapadia and Utkarshini Vashistha, who wrote the dialogues of the film, have to be praised. They have written very powerful and hard heating dialogues for the film. Alia’s words also make you laugh, and their effect is also strong on you.
If Alia Bhatt has shined in the role of Gangubai Kathiawadi, then Ajay Devgan has also done wonders in the role of Rahim Lala. Ajay is in his Once Upon a Time in Mumbai zone. He has commanded his role very well. Shantanu Maheshwari’s Bollywood debut was quite good. His style and cute style of romancing Alia with eyes is quite lovely.
Vijay Raaz looted the palace
One person who did wonders in his small role is Vijay Raaz. Vijay has played the role of the president of Kamathipura and his status was amazing. Jim Sarbh’s work as a journalist is also good. Seema Pahwa was good in the role of Kothewali. Huma Qureshi has brought life to the film with her cameo.
Cinematography, Background Score, Music Superb
Sanjay Leela Bhansali has made Gangubai Kathiawadi in a different style. The cinematography, background score, music and dance of the film are quite good. The film has been beautifully shot frame by frame. There are as many powerful moments in it as there are emotional moments. The troubles of a prostitute’s life, the danger to her life and the pain of living in infamous streets and never seeing her loved ones, Bhansali has shown on screen with complete honesty. In such a situation, if you do not go to see this film on the weekend, then you will miss a good experience.
