The collection of about 31 acrylic works of art include depictions of enchanted woods, wildlife, and landscapes. Speaking about her journey as a self-taught artist, Badrunnisa says, “I used to only draw roses at one time, then I realised I could reproduce images and began practising with online images.” Now, her works are not just of flowers, but are detailed and colourful images of flora and fauna, and her favourite animal — the horse. She usually sits in her garden and spends hours on her works which are inspired by nature. Badrunnisa favours old brushstrokes and vibrant colours and one can see blue-orange fish, bright green landscapes, dark red mushrooms, light brown squirrels on trees, yellow birds, white houses by the sea and more, on her canvases. She says, “I prefer to put colours into my paintings. I want people to see these paintings and feel happy because that is what life is all about. So many people have lost the colour in their lives.” A painting from the collection

Badrunnisa does not consider herself an artist, saying, “I started painting only because my daughter came up to me one day and told me to stop cooking and enjoy some form of art. All my works are amateurish, but I am following my passion and the child in me comes out on canvas.” Artist Badrunissa Irfan
