‘Thug Life’ song launch highlights: First single ‘Jinguchaa’ from Kamal Haasan-Mani Ratnam’s movie to be launched today

Kamal Haasan: ‘The heroines don’t say ‘I love you’ to me in this film, but this actor…’Kamal further states that ‘Thug Life’ is a peace offering to the audiences who had waited for a collaboration between Silambarasan TR’s father, veteran actor T Rajendran and himself. “Rajinikanth and I used to see TR’s poster and wonder who this actor was and how he replaced our banners in just one year,” he says.“I used to call Mani as ‘Anjara Mani Ratnam.’ Every day of shoot is like that, and he has been the same since Nayakan. In fact, he reminds me of K Balachander and that’s a big compliment,” adds Kamal.“Simbu’s father had so much affection for me. If something happens to me, he would come, hug and cry. Silambarasan is twice as affectionate as his father,” adds Kamal, before taking a friendly jab at Joju George.“The heroines in this film never said ‘I love you’ in this film. However, every day, during the shoot, the only person who used to say ‘I love you’ was Joju,” says Kamal. The veteran star, known for his passion in incorporating technology in cinema, recalls the time he watched ‘Oppenheimer’ with AR Rahman in Los Angeles. “We then went to the cinema museum. What I learn from these two (Mani Ratnam and Rahman) is not to talk much. But I don’t think I’m implementing that,” jokes the star.
